The Ecclesbourne School extension in Croydon delivers state-of-the-art educational spaces that prioritise sustainability. Built primarily with timber, it offers excellent insulation and airtight detailing to reduce energy use. Natural light and ventilation enhance the learning environment, while the modern design complements the existing school.

The use of long-span glulam beams and timber construction provided the strength and flexibility needed for large, open spaces while maintaining a lightweight structure. Prefabrication of timber components allowed for rapid on-site assembly, enabling the project to be completed within a small timeframe over the summer holidays. This approach ensured minimal disruption to school operations while delivering a durable and sustainable building that supports modern educational needs.
